Jessica Avalos is a junior at Jurupa Valley High School. She is the junior class president, commissioner of community affairs for ASB, a volunteer at Think Together at Mission Bell, and is involved in A.V.I.D. Jessica has been a cheerleader for two and a half years and is on the varsity and competition cheer squads.
Her favorite subject in school is photography. Jessica enjoys being in school and hanging out with her best friends.
“She is a person who is always energetic, responsible and positive when it comes to her school work” said junior Silvia Reyes.
In the future she hopes to attend UC San Diego and study marine biology or work at Disney Pixar.
As a cheerleader, she is known to be the, “little energizer bunny.” Which is what her varsity cheer captain Vanessa Franco calls her. She has really high toe touches and is recently proud of herself because she recently mastered her backhand spring.
The people who have the most influence in her life are her grandmother, Mr. Joshua Erickson, and Mrs. Kortney Hughes. Both Erickson and Hughes encourage her to do her best in school and to never give up on her dreams.
Jessica loves being a part of JVHS because she says, “Jurupa Valley is an awesome school and the student store is amazing because their popcorn is delicious.”
She hopes to remember all of the memories she has made and to have awesome senior year next year. Jessica appreciates all the friendships she has made at JVHS and hopes to keep all the people she loves close to her heart forever.
Jessica believes that the best way to get rid of school stress is to, “talk to talk to Andrea and Janelle because they always know what to say to make my day fantastic.”
