There are some people who were made to be teachers. Those people are caring, warm, funny, and understanding. They love coming to work and broadening students’ minds. Lucky for Jurupa Valley High School, there is just the person on campus as a teacher. Her name is Mrs. Jennifer Marile. She is an English and ASB teacher.
Marsile started teaching at JVHS in 2006. She then took another job in Long Beach at Los Alamitos High School in 2007. Then she returned last year for the 2010- 2011 school year.
She said she wanted to be teacher because she “wanted to inspire our future generations.”
Marsile enjoys teaching at JVHS very much. When she is not in school, she spends her free time working out, reading books, spending time with friends and family, and spending time outdoors.
For college, she started out at Riverside Community College and then transferred to Cal State Long Beach. She later went to the University of Redlands where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in literature. She also received her single subject teaching credential from theUniversityofRedlands. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in education fromNationalUniversity.
Her favorite Jurupa Valley memory is, being “with [her] ASB students after rallies, seeing the relief and joy and with [her] English kids when [they] laugh so hard at the little mistakes. Just being around both [her] ASB students and English students help [her] get through those tough days.”
One interesting thing to know about Marsile is that she, “really, really loves bean, cheese, and rice burritos, and diet coke, coffee and [her] dog Pilot.” Marsile also says that she “can rap.”
