On Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, members of Ms. Suzy McCarley’s Theatre 2 and Advanced Theatre classes went to Servite High School (in Anaheim), where they attended the California Educational Theatre Association’s (CETA) annual Southern California High School Theatre Festival.
Every year, CETA holds this festival for eligible schools, where high school theatre students gather to participate in theatre competitions, engage in workshops, and compete for scholarship opportunities, among other things. It’s a chance for theatre students to get out and learn from their peers and from professionals.
“It was all about theatre,” McCarley said. “All of the students were having a great time, and their behavior was great. I didn’t have to worry about my students at all.”
It was a weekend of excitement where students got to learn and have fun.
